Electrophysiology
Electrophysiology is the study of the hearts electrical system and assists patients with heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmia) to achieve regular heartbeats. Electrophysiologists also determine whether an individual is at high risk for sudden cardiac death.
Several methods to diagnose and treat heart rhythm abnormalities:
- EnSite® - 3D electronic mapping system
- Tilt-table
- ambulatory stress test
- Cardiac ablation - using radiofrequency energy to correct heart arrhythmias.
